6th Grade Committee Structure
To simplify communication (and avoid the “tongue twister” of referring to multiple grade levels), we are grouping all committees under one umbrella with a color-based structure:
- Red Committee – Current 4th grade parents
(Committee forms; fundraising planning begins for White year; manage EduKit school supplies) - White Committee – Current 5th grade parents
(Primary fundraising year; partnership with students to promote and participate in efforts) - Blue Committee – Current 6th grade parents
(Execution of events; partnership with teachers to support a meaningful final year, including leadership programming and Corinth Commerce)
Each group will move up a level each year.
Fundraising
1. Fundraising Supported by 5th Grade (White Committee)
- Fundraising efforts will now primarily occur during the 5th grade year
- Students will be encouraged to participate in promotion and engagement
- Examples include:
- Restaurant nights
- Skate parties
- Additional Fundraisers (car washes, coupon books).
- Student-led promotions (signs, flyers, event participation)
2. PTA Support Through Existing Fundraisers
- The PTA has approved designating all restaurant night and skate party proceeds toward the 6th grade leadership experience (traditionally TimberRidge)
- This helps offset one of the largest costs for families
Looking Ahead
- Additional fundraising (car washes, coupon books, etc.) is encouraged during the 5th grade year
- The goal is to reduce the financial ask for families over time
- We will continue refining this structure, progress over perfection
- Please note - as of now we still plan to support K - 6 field trips at $20 per student
6th Grade Leadership Program
We are thrilled to share that the 6th grade teachers have developed a thoughtful 6th Grade Leadership Program, designed to provide meaningful leadership and real-world learning experiences.
The hope is for a continued partnership between:
-
Teachers
-
6th Grade Committees
-
PTA
